This programme is delivered online and part-time across 2-years, over four semesters, from September to June Year 1 and from September 2025 to May Year 2. The capstone project is completed in the student’s own time at the end of Year 2.
Online classes take place two nights per week per semester from 6pm to 9pm. Delivery will be via a blend of tutor-led classes, live Q&A sessions and prerecorded lectures. Optional in person industry workshops/events, dates will be provided upon course commencement.

The programme will have 11 modules over Semesters 1-5, as well as an elective module within Semester 3. Each of the modules are assessed through continuous assessment.

The capstone project will require the participant to apply their learning from the other modules in a real-time context, designing an innovative fintech solution for an organisation of choice by the participant. Participants will be provided with a masterclass on research methods covering all stages of research from formulating the research question to the methodology to writing the final project.

Munster Technological University (MTU)
Munster Technological University is a multi-campus technological university, contributing to the region through the provision of academic programmes that support student development and opportunities, education and research. MTU has an extensive and impressive regional footprint with six campuses across the South-West region in Cork and Kerry, and a student body of 18,000.
Academic Eligibility
The minimum entry requirement for course participants will be a 2nd Class Honours Grade 2, in a computer science NFQ level 8 degree, a financial services NFQ level 8 degree, or a NFQ level 8 degree in a cognate discipline.
Candidates who do not meet this requirement but who possess relevant skills and learning may be considered under the MTU Recognition of Prior Learning procedure. Please advise upon application if you wish to apply via RPL.
All applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of English language proficiency. IELTS Academic 6.0 (No less than a 5.5 in any one band). English language tests must be undertaken no more than two years prior to the start of a programme. Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) status must be provided if a non-EU citizen.

Full course fee: €3,875 per year
Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet grant: €925 per year
Subsidised course fee: €2,950* per year

*Funding Eligibility
Applicants must be working in a private or commercial semi-state organisation registered in the Republic of Ireland (Business, Consultant, Freelancer) to avail of the grant-aided fees. As a government-funded training network, we can only support those meeting these criteria.
Applicants who do not meet our funding criteria may be able to apply directly to the college and pay the full course fee of €3,875 (per year) if there are available places.
Once you have received your offer of a place on the course, please be aware that we have a limited number of subsidised places available. Due to high demand, we cannot hold places without payment. To ensure fairness, priority for these places will be granted to those who have both completed full payment of the subsidised fee and are deemed eligible by the college or training provider.
