Policing in the Digital Age – A Case Study on An Garda Síochána
This is the first event in our series of techBREK network & learn events, delivered in partnership with Mastercard and taking place the first Tuesday of each month in September, October, November and December at Mastercard Dublin Tech Hub, South County Business Park, Dublin. The techBREK series are hosted by Sabrina Staunton, Director of the Mastercard Dublin Tech Hub and an award winning leader in the financial services sector, who will guide us on a thought-provoking and insightful journey this Autumn.
The September session, titled Policing in the Digital Age – A Case Study on An Garda Síochána, will feature a presentation by Tim Willoughby, Head of Digital Services and Innovation at An Garda Síochána. Tim will explore the Digital Journey that An Garda Síochána is on and expand on technology solutions from Mobile Technology and Body Worn Cameras. Tim will share on the ICT vision and the frontline engagement and delivery model that he has implemented. Don’t miss this opportunity to network and learn from industry leaders.

Tim Willoughby is head of Digital Services and Innovation in An Garda Síochána and is responsible for Innovation and new and future directions in technology. Tim has led the Garda Mobility Programme, where over 15,000 mobile devices are now in use with many Policing Apps and innovations. More recently Tim is heading up the Garda Body Worn Camera project with successful launches in Dublin and Limerick so far. Tim was formerly CTO of the LGMA, with over 20 years in a number of Senior Management and Technical Roles in the Local Government Sector. He has been working in the Public service for over 30 years. Tim has a Civil Engineering Degree from TCD and a Masters in Innovation from the University of Ulster, is a Fellow of the Irish Computer Society and was recently recognised with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the CIO and Digital Leadership Awards 2024.
Sabrina Staunton works as a leader in the technology sector, she brings over 15 years of expertise in global technology and financial services, specializing in strategic leadership for digital transformation, business outcomes employee engagement learning & development & D&I. Her passion lies in fostering talent and promoting diversity within the industry, a commitment that earned her lots of recognition and industry awards. Beyond her career she is deeply involved in community and industry initiatives, serving as a mentor and advocate for underrepresented groups in technology along with being involved in many forums. She’s an EMCC qualified coach with a focus on scaling and driving customer outcomes with various methods, toolkits and styles. She has a unique perspective to drive organizational success impact and foster innovation to deliver best in class employee and customer outcomes.
