No. The session takes place online, so you can join from anywhere. However, the MSc in Sustainable Cloud Computing and the funding options through Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet are designed primarily for ICT professionals working in Ireland, and all times are given in Irish time.
The Virtual Open Event is designed for cloud engineers, software engineers, site reliability engineers, DevOps engineers, architects and technical leads who are considering a Level 9 Masters in Sustainable Cloud Computing while working full time. It is especially useful if you are responsible for cloud platforms, infrastructure, data or platform engineering and want to embed sustainability into how your organisation uses the cloud. Managers, HR and L&D leaders are also very welcome, particularly those exploring how a Masters in Sustainable Cloud Computing can support capability building and ESG commitments in their teams.
Yes. You do not need to be a software architect or DevOps engineer to benefit from the session or the programme. If you have experience in software, cloud, infrastructure, networking, systems administration or related technical roles and want to move towards sustainable cloud leadership, this Virtual Open Event will be relevant.
Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet provides Government assisted funding through the Skillnet Ireland initiative of the Government of Ireland. During the Virtual Open Event we will explain the current fees for the MSc in Sustainable Cloud Computing, the reduced rates available to eligible professionals working in private sector organisations in the Republic of Ireland, and the steps you and your employer need to take to access this funding. We will also clarify what to do if you do not meet the funding criteria but still wish to apply for the programme.
You do not need employer approval to attend the Virtual Open Day, and many individuals begin the application process themselves. For subsidised places it is usually helpful to involve your employer, because funding is linked to your current employment status. During the session we will outline how organisations typically support employees on the MSc in Sustainable Cloud Computing and what information you can bring back to your manager or HR team.
You will hear from TU Dublin academics and an industry speaker about the structure, content and learning outcomes of the MSc in Sustainable Cloud Computing. We will walk through the key modules, time commitment, assessment approach and how the programme is delivered for working professionals. You will also gain a practical view of how sustainable cloud computing is being applied in industry, and there will be time for your questions on entry requirements, funding, career paths and next steps.
At the end of the session we will outline the application timeline for the next intake and the steps you need to take. You will receive links to the full MSc in Sustainable Cloud Computing course page, the enquiry and application forms, and guidance on what information and documents to prepare. After the webinar you can follow up with the Technology Ireland ICT Skillnet team if you have specific questions about your profile, eligibility or funding options
