Commercial Open Source (COSS) Companies – or companies which would not exist without the coexistence of an open source project – are growing in number and size over the past number of years.
The COSS category has grown from $10B in 2018 to over $500B today and specialist VCs, such as OSS Capital have emerged to invest specifically in COSS companies.
